Hah! I have some time tonight to fiddle around in Zbrush yaaay! ^_^

I decided I needed to get to know this program a bit more, before I go crazy over Lyssa
So, I'm trying to design my own concept idea for a staff.
I know, sounds so simple, but actually it isn't.
Besides, I figured that I like to design my own things more than trying to stick strictly to an already done concept while I'm learning things.

So, with my newfound knowledge of the existence of ZSketch, I'll be busy for the next hour in making the basic sketch of my staff ^_^

What's ZSketch you ask? It's a feature of ZBrush, where you get to SKETCH IN 3D SPACE.

I KNOW!! O_O

Hope I can get to a presentable base tonight to take a screenie of and show you guys ^_^

15 minute Zsphere base.
This is what sculpters call armature I think.
Once I start to do the zsketch on this frame, I'll be able to move it along the joints if I want to. Which is really cool! Before this, it would've had to be rigged to do that.

The model will be my concept idea of a detailed sylvari staff. Who knows, maybe someday in the future GW2 will have weapon contests ^_^ I wanna be ready
It's also an easier way to figure out everything ZBrush has to offer, while having huge fun

So yeah, here's the armature (not done yet, but I got sleepy... it's 10 pm... hoopefully I can continue on it tomorrow!)

40 minute long Zsketching...

I drew onto my armature in sketch mode. I can modify any of these (or erase), and resketch.
Once I have what I like, I can convert it into a unified polymesh, and start sculpting on it
But yea, pls keep in mind this is equal to a normal digital drawing's sketch phase... so nothing much to see yet, just the base

Those are some cool bark textures on the tree. Guh, I wish I had time right now to try this program out.

For those who're interested, ZBrush just released ZBrush 4 trial version
I'd advise you to watch/read tutorials before you download and try out the program, you don't want to waste precious trial time with reading, do you?

Here's the link to the thread:
http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?t=105042

Try and read through this, it's the getting started PDF: http://www.pixologic.com/zbrush/getting-started/

You can find a lot of good tutorial videos here: http://www.pixologic.com/zclassroom/homeroom/

As for me, I'm gonna be installing a few plugins, matcaps and brushes, then if I have time I'll continue with my staff

After this pic I'll probably start posting the progress pics with bigger intervals in the looks.

Hey Everyone ^_^

So I was told yesterday to stick my nose in my thread, so here I am

Been extremely busy the past few months with various stuff, among them is learning performance arts (flow wand, poi, contact staff). It's huge fun

I've made a few 3D pics, and created base mannequins in 3D in preparation of taking GW2 commissions

So here's a WIP of something I've been working on.

Yeah, the flame tail will be behind the hand... my bad in mixing up my layers xD

@Guy Incognito - Thanks!
Well, even though I still need money to finish my HoM, I wanted to concentrate on getting 3D chars ready for GW2 commissions for whenever GW2 comes out. It takes a while to prep everything, and it feels like the GW2 release date began to loom. ^_^

@Aeronwen - Thank you ^_^
Hubby is doing great, he has come a long way in recovering and I'm immensely proud of him. He seems healthier than ever

I need your help guys, I entered into this design competition where we were supposed to design bumper stickers, and the prize is $300 into your shopping account on that site.

I need that to buy props for my performance arts stuff, so I'd reeeeeeaally appreciate it if you could go an vote for me! ^_^ If you could get your friends to vote too, I'd be super happy

No need to register on the site, it all takes about 30 seconds

The pictures are under the uploader names "Brigitta" and "LivSpin". They should be around the middle of the pack.

Thanks so much!! ^_^
